VA Boston Healthcare System: "The VA Boston Healthcare System deems restoration of Arborway light rail service an asset to the veteran population that we serve."

Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council: "By a vote of 14 to 2, the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council on February 27, 2001, reaffirmed its long-standing support for the restoration of Green Line service to the Arborway. The JPNC supports restoration in part because of the social and economic benefits that flow from the significant public investment in the community that restoration represents."

Franklin Park Coalition: "The Coalition believes that restoration of Green Line service could greatly facilitate our long-term goal of limiting the intrusion of automobiles into the park environment. We believe that additional track could be run from the restored Green Line into...Franklin Park making it possible for people to access the Park without an automobile."

Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay: "We support restoring Arborway Green Line service. Restoration would remove over 400 bus trips daily from the streets of the city as a whole and the Back Bay in particular thereby reducing traffic congestion and promoting a cleaner environment."

St. Botolph Neighborhood Association: "The significance of a rail infrastructure to the transit needs of urban neighborhoods cannot be underestimated. We support restoring the Green Line to the Arborway."

WalkBoston: "Light rail not only enhances commerce and ridership, it can also create wonderful streetscapes and clean the environment…. We urge the MBTA to restore [Arborway] service and the City of Boston to support that restoration."

MASSPIRG: "The MBTA should keep its promise and restore light rail on the Arborway line. The public deserves the environmental and transportation benefits it would provide."

Sierra Club: "There is no suitable substitute for the Arborway Green Line project. This project would restore a direct radial transit connection between the neighborhoods of the Arborway Corridor and the strong retail and commercial core that is downtown Boston. This linkage is crucial…."

Wentworth Institute of Technology: "We believe that eliminating the current motor bus trips in favor of the Green Line LRV's 'one fare one vehicle trip' up and down Huntington will greatly improve transport and cut down on congestion and emissions created by buses."

Clean Buses for Boston: "Clean Buses for Boston (CBB) is a coalition of community, environmental and public health organizations working toward cleaner, more efficient public transit service in Boston. We are writing to support your efforts to restore Arborway Green Line service to Centre Street in Jamaica Plain."

Association for Public Transportation: "We support restoration…. The physical presence of a streetcar line conveys a sense of permanence and public commitment to the neighborhoods it serves."

Washington Street Corridor Coalition: "Like Washington Street, the Arborway line has been underserved and neglected by the MBTA. Route 39 bus service is poor; ridership is down. We support light rail for Jamaica Plain as well as Washington Street."

Federation for Public Transportation: "The Federation for Public Transportation is an alliance of neighborhood organizations in Boston working for improved public transit to Boston's neighborhoods. We support Arborway light rail service because it will increase transit ridership, decrease reliance upon the automobile, and improve the quality of life for the neighborhoods served by the line."

Alliance of Boston Neighborhoods: "A comprehensive cost/benefit analysis, considering environmental, health, and life-cycle equipment and roadway maintenance factors, will show that LRVs are a far better investment than buses in our transportation and in our community well-being. The Alliance of Boston Neighborhoods supports the restoration of Arborway Green Line service to Jamaica Plain because a healthy urban environment depends on reducing the number of motor vehicles driven in the city."
