Legislators Request Inclusion of Green Line Extension in MBTA 2026 Capital Investment Plan (CIP)

April 25, 2026 - The annual MBTA Capital Investment Plan (commonly called the "CIP") is a rolling five-year plan which funds the planning, construction, and capital maintenance of assets across the MBTA.

The public input phase for the 2026 CIP has recently closed.  Jamaica Plain's state legislators, specifically Senator Michael Rush,  Senator Elizabeth Miranda, and Representative William MacGregor, have provided letters supporting inclusion of the Hyde Square Green Line extension in the 2016 CIP to the MBTA Capital Investment Team.
